OAKLAND — The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office has charged a 41-year-old janitor and four-time felon with multiple counts of second-degree robbery in connection with a series of East Oakland phone-store robberies, according to police and court records.
Earlier this month, police shared word of robberies that investigators believed were related from Oct. 15 and Dec. 2 and 3 from MetroPCS vendors on International and Foothill boulevards.
Police could not immediately confirm the date and location of a fourth store robbery.
After police released a suspect description and shared an image taken from a nearby surveillance camera, investigators were able to develop information identifying Deandre Campbell as a suspect.
Campbell was arrested around 2:35 p.m. Tuesday. He bail was set at $1.31 million, and has a Jan. 7 plea hearing scheduled in Oakland, according to a county records check Friday.
