A woman in Washington County was arrested after she allegedly shot her cell phone — and sent the bullet flying into her neighbor’s bedroom.
The Washington County Sheriff’s office said their first shooting call of the decade came in at 12:06 a.m. Wednesday morning. Deputies responded to a condo building in the North Bethany community, where they arrested Rosemarie Ancharski, 35, on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and recklessly endangering.
The Sheriff’s Office says it appears Ancharski was holding a handgun in one hand and her phone in the other, when the shot was fired. No word yet on motive, or whether the firing of the weapon was intentional. Officers do believe intoxicants may have played a role in the shooting.
The bullet sliced clean through the smart phone and through the wall into her neighbor’s bedroom. Luckily, the neighbor wasn’t in the room, and no one was hurt.
The phone, however, appears to be a total loss.
